Research progress on the role of circRNA in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis

摘要 动脉粥样硬化是心血管疾病最常见的原因,也是全世界发病率和死亡率的主要原因。环状RNA(circular RNA,circRNA)是一种新的非编码RNA分子,作为重要的调控分子参与生命活动的不同过程。circRNA与动脉粥样硬化的发病机制有关,包括血管内皮细胞,血管平滑肌细胞(vascular smooth muscle cell,VSMC),炎症反应和脂质代谢异常。近年来,circRNA在动脉粥样硬化中的作用被广泛研究,文章主要概述了circRNA的特征、生物学功能以及在动脉粥样硬化发生、发展中的作用机制。 Atherosclerosis underlies the predominant number of cardiovascular diseases and remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide.Circular RNA(circRNA)is a newly recognized class of noncoding RNA,and participates in various biological processes as critical regulatory molecules.circRNA has been implicated in the pathophysiological processes underlying the development of atherosclerosis,including vascular endothelial cells,vascular smooth muscle cells,inflammatory response and abnormal lipid metabolism.In recent years,the role of circRNA in atherosclerosis has been widely studied.This review mainly summarized the characteristics,biological functions and mechanisms of circRNA in the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis.
