Objective To explore the effect of continued nursing on the growth and development of low birth weight premature infants(LBWI).Methods A total of 74 LBWI cases admitted to the undergraduate room of our hospital from January 2017 to June 2019 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into observation group and control group by random number table, with 37 cases in each group. Both groups of premature infants were given routine care, and the observation group was given continuous care. The growth and development, the development of the nervous system and the changes in biochemical indicators of the two groups of premature infants were compared. Results The weight and length of premature infants in the observation group at 1,3,6,9,and 12 months were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of communication, adaptability, language, fine motor and grand motor in the observation group of 1,3,6,9,and 12 months were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the levels of hemoglobin and alkaline phosphatase between the two groups of preterm infants at 1,3 months(P>0.05).The levels of hemoglobin and alkaline phosphatase in the observation group at 6,9,and 12 months were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Continued nursing care significantly promoted LBWI growth and nervous system development, improved anemia, and was beneficial to bone development.
