摘要
中国新兴木刻传统于20世纪30年代起开始影响新加坡。在这一影响下,五六十年代新加坡出现了木刻版画创作的繁荣,主要创作者来自南洋美专及赤道艺术研究会,用木刻反抗殖民、关爱劳工阶层、抗议社会不公、反映当地生活,体现了鲜明的社会现实主义艺术思想。新加坡因此成为新兴木刻运动在海外产生最大影响的地区,研究这段少为人知的历史,可以从世界视野中考察中国木刻版画的传播和发展,更好地认识新兴木刻运动的生命力。
The new Chinese woodcut tradition began to influence Singapore in the 1930s.Under this influence,woodcut creation flourished in Singapore in the 1950s and 1960s.The creators mainly came from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Equator Art Society;They used woodcut works to resist colonization,care for the working class,protest against social injustice,and reflect local life,reflecting distinct artistic thoughts of social realism.Singapore thus became the region where the new woodcut movement had the greatest impact overseas.The study of this little-known history can help to observe the spread and development of Chinas woodcut from a global perspective and to better understand the vitality of the new woodcut movement.
