摘要
继志斋刊刻的《玉合记》的版画插图在人物处理上具有鲜明的特点,其造型圆润,面容表情程式化,在具有世俗气息的同时也蕴含理想化的色彩。在人物角色的塑造上,《玉合记》版画插图采用了符号化的手法,主要通过服饰的社会身份指向,以图像符号的指示性来设计人物形象,进而以绘画性的表现推进文学性叙事,其中服饰是传达人物身份的关键要素,对人物形象的塑造具有重要作用。这一处理手法符合戏曲叙事的特征,也方便读者指认角色的身份,适合大众化的认知诉求。该插图在造型的趣味上兼具通俗与雅致的美学品格,体现了晚明版画的杰出成就。
The illustrations of The Story of Jade Box engraved by Ji Zhizhai have distinct features in characters,which are round in shape and stylized in facial expression,containing both idealized sense as well as secular atmosphere.On the shaping of the characters,the printmaking of The Story of Jade Box adopted the symbolic technique,with character images mainly designed based on social identity orientation of clothing and indication of image symbols,so as to promote literary narrative with painting performance.Among them,clothing is the key element to convey the identity of the character and plays an important role in shaping the character image.This technique is in line with the characteristics of drama narrative,and also convenient for readers to identify the character,suitable for the popular cognitive demands.The illustrations have both popular and elegant aesthetic features in modeling,which embodies the outstanding achievements of late Ming printmaking.
