1927年大革命失败后,中国共产党做出了关乎中国革命前途和人民命运的历史性抉择,以大无畏的革命精神发动南昌起义。以南昌起义为起点,历经三湾改编和古田会议,一支完全区别于古今中外旧式军队的新型人民军队成立。南昌起义中应运而生的八一精神,源于伟大的建党精神,体现了党对军队绝对领导的政治特质和军队是人民子弟兵的本质特性。建党、建军和建立新中国,是实现中华民族伟大复兴的三个里程碑,与此相应的是中国共产党精神谱系中矗立的三大坐标,即以红船精神等为代表的建党精神坐标,以八一精神等为代表的建军精神坐标,以井冈山精神、苏区精神、延安精神和西柏坡精神等为代表的建立新中国精神坐标。八一精神承上启下、继往开来,在中国共产党精神谱系中,具有极为重要的地位和作用。

After the failure of the great revolution in 1927, the CPC made a historic choice related to the future of the Chinese revolution and the destiny of the people, and launched the Nanchang Uprising with a fearless revolutionary spirit. Starting from the Nanchang Uprising, after Sanwan Adaptation and Gutian Conference, a new people’s army completely different from the old army at all times, at home and abroad was forged. The Bayi spirit, which came into being in the Nanchang Uprising, originated from the great party building spirit and embodied the political characteristics of the party’s absolute leadership over the army and the essential characteristics of the army for the people. Building the Party, the army and the new China are the three milestones in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Correspondingly, there are three coordinates standing in the spiritual pedigree of the CPC, namely, the spiritual coordinates of building the Party represented by the red boat spirit, the spiritual coordinates of building the army represented by the Bayi spirit, the Jinggangshan spirit, the Soviet area spirit, Yan’an spirit and Xibaipo Spirit are the representatives of the establishment of revolutionary power and the spiritual coordinates of new China. The Bayi spirit, which connects the past and the future, plays an extremely important role in the spiritual pedigree of the CPC.
