“灰姑娘反串版”的四种现代叙事变体

Four Narrative Variants of“Male Cinderella Story”

传统的“灰姑娘反串版”往往叙述男主角通过婚姻“逆袭”成功的故事。而在近现代叙事中,“灰姑娘反串版”故事出现新的表达。文本以司汤达的《红与黑》、菲兹杰拉德的《夜色温柔》、劳伦斯的《查泰莱夫人的情人》和金斯利的《幸运的吉姆》为例,具体研究了男性“灰姑娘”功败垂成、喜尽悲来、被工具化和变成滑稽模仿的四种变体。研究发现,这些变体不仅在故事模式上发生了一些调整,更重要的是,作品的主题立意发生了深刻变化,特别是重构了传统版灰姑娘故事中的“性别政治”形态,体现了男权的衰落、男性英雄形象的瓦解和女权的兴起。

The traditional“male Cinderella story”narrates heroes\successful“class promotion”by way of marriage upward,while in modern narration“male Cinderella story”finds new expressions.This paper takes Stendhal\s The Red and the Black,Fitzgerald\s Tender Is the Night,Lawrence\s Lady Chatterley\s Lover and Amis\s Lucky Jim as examples to present the four typical modern variants,in which male Cinderella either fails on the verge of success or experiences grief after a bout of pleasure,either becomes an instrument or a travesty.These variants not just show some adjustments in the story pattern.More importantly,they reconstruct traditional“male Cinderella story\s”“gender politics”,presenting totally new themes,reflecting the decline of masculine authority,the smash of“hero”image,and the rise of feminine power.
