摘要
本文运用系统功能文体学选择与功能的关系、话语文体学的会话分析理论,以及认知文体学的概念整合理论对艾丽丝·门罗的短篇小说《逃离》进行文体研究,主要考查了男主人公Clark分别与妻子Carla及Sylvia的对话以及Clark对待Carla和山羊Flora相似的方式。通过对会话细节及男主人公Clark思维风格等的分析,揭示了Clark霸道强势的大男子主义形象及对妻子Carla的绝对控制地位,阐释了女主人公Carla选择逃离的必然性。同时,Carla的软弱又预示其逃离的失败,她最终无法逃脱精神藩篱的束缚,这注定了其日后生活的悲剧性。
Drawing on the relationship between choice and function in systemic functional stylistics,conversation analysis theory in discourse stylistics,and the conceptual integration theory in cognitive stylistics,this paper provides an analysis on the short story Runaway by Alice Munro,including the analysis of the conversation between Clark and Carla,between Clark and his neighbor Sylvia,and a conceptual integration analysis of Clark\s attitudes toward Carla and the goat Flora.Through the analysis,the paper demonstrates the power of the hero Clark and his absolute mental control over Carla,explains the inevitability of Carla\s runaway and return,indicates the inescapable mental fence set up by Clark.At the same time,Carla\s sluggishness and dependency on Clark leads to her return,and predicts Carla\s tragic life in the future.
