基于语料库的社会网络效度分析——以美国涉中军事科技报道为例

A Validity Analysis of Social Networks Extracted from Text Corpora:A Case Study on U.S.News Reports on China’s Military Technology

本文以美国涉中军事科技报道语料库为例,分别以读者的心理预期和新闻报道的重大事件为标准,对基于该语料库生成的社会网络进行效度分析。研究结果表明:基于语料库构建的主体关系矩阵与人工构建的主体关系矩阵具有一定的相关性;以流动中介中心性为指标提取的关键网络节点与新闻报道重大事件中的主要参与者基本一致。研究结果说明基于语料库生成的社会网络具有一定的效度,尽管该方法仍有进一步改进的空间。

This paper aims to assess the representational validity of the social network extracted from a?collection of texts.Taking U.S.news reports on China’s military technology as an example,this study compares the network generated from a collection of texts with a similar form of representation?produced by human readers,and links the central nodes identified in the network to the key players in the?historical?events reported by the news articles.The result provides evidence of a moderate correlation?between the matrix extracted from the corpus and the readers’representation of the texts.The nodes?with high flow betweenness centrality in the networks correspond well with the key players identified?in the news reports.The study suggests that corpus-based social network analysis can be a valid tool?for analyzing social reality even though this new method needs further improvement.
