美籍华裔作家哈金的小说充分展示了性别关系中的政治性内涵,即男女两性关系也是一种权力结构的关系和组合。而男性创作主体哈金对其笔下女性形象的营构方式,则呈现了性别政治的残酷现实。哈金倚恃男性在社会文化上的优势地位,对“女”“性”津津乐道,在文字上对女性恣意凌辱,欣赏对女性的凌霸,从中获得心理乃至生理上的满足。男性作家在理性认识上和创作实践中折射出其性别政治观上的矛盾或悖论。
