Civil Engineering English is a professional language with highly practical nature.For a long time,due to learners and interpreters’lack of full and proper understanding of composition and characteristics of the language system and lack of professional knowledge in interrelated fields,the translation concerning civil engineering is rendered inaccurate and inadequate,sometimes even fully wrong.This paper focuses on discussing constituting characteristics of civil engineering English aiming to explore the research direction and translation method concerned.The ultimate purpose is to improve the translation quality.
