Features and Chinese Translation of English Water Conservancy Terminology

水利科技术语是水利理论技术的核心,是国内外领域交流协作的要素,水利科技术语的翻译直接影响水利科技的传播。本文结合术语翻译实例,在分析总结水利科技术语词汇形式特征及构词特点的基础上,提出了水利科技术语翻译应遵循的两大基本原则:巧用翻译方法与强化信息检索。

Terms of water conservancy encompass not only the essences which epitomize the theory and technology of water conservancy but also perform as the crux for international cooperation,so the translation of the terms will directly affect the spread of water conservancy technology.Based on the translation of the Sci-tech terms,this paper extends two fundamental principles that should be taken into consideration when translating the water conservancy terms:skillfully adopting translation methods and strengthening information retrieval.
