The Translation Methods of English Vocabulary and Syntax in The Heart of Prajna Paramita Sutra

本文以佛教经典《般若波罗蜜多心经》玄奘汉译本及其两个影响较大的英译本为研究对象,结合实例,进行分析考证,探究佛经英译中有代表性的词汇与句子的翻译方法,提出佛经翻译应在准确达意、通俗易懂、便于诵读的原则上,采用"有我之境"与"无我之境"相结合的英译策略,以彰显中国文化底蕴。

Based on Buddhist classics The Heart of Prajna Paramita Sutra and its two influential English versions as the research objects,this article has made a comparative analysis and textual research on the translation examples,studied the translation methods and strategies of the representative vocabulary and syntax in the English translation of this sutra,and put forward that the translation methods of the Buddhist sutra should be flexibly used,and we should adopt the English translation strategy of the combination of"Self state"and"Selfless state"on the basis of the applicable principles of accurate expression,easy to understand and easy to read aloud so as to highlight the cultural heritage of China and promote the spread of Chinese Buddhist scriptures to the west.
