As a Russian proletarian revolutionist,statesman,theorist and thinker,Lenin carried out a lot of revolutionary practice and theoretical exploration under the guidance of Marxist theory.Attaching great importance to the development of literature and art,Lenin was not only familiar with the literary works of classical Russian writers,but also the creation of Euro-American writers.In addition to citing their ideas and classical characterization to demonstrate his own revolutionary theory,Lenin also carried out a special practice of literary criticism on the literary and artistic phenomena at the time as well as the writers’writing features,namely,using the Marxist position,viewpoints and methodology to solve the problems in literary development.He affirmed the great achievements of the ancient Greek and Roman literature fully and enjoyed classicism,realism as well as other literary genres,and he also commented on modernism and other literary phenomena with a unique theoretical insight.Lenin’s aesthetic points of view on literature had a significant influence on world literature studies in his age as well as in the future.
