Humanism was widely discussed by academic circles of Japan,Europe and America in the 1930 s.This paper analyzes Japanese philosopher Miki Kiyoshi’s understanding of western humanism theories, and points out that he tried to construct a new humanism theory with"homo faber"as the core.Compared with western humanism, the concept of"poiesis"is not simply a human characteristic. At the same time, the relationship between his orientalism rooted in"nothing""nature"and"heaven"also deserves further study.Mitsuki’s understanding of homo faber is different from that of western philosophers, such as Arendt, which is closely related to his unique Japanese-Specific concept of poiesis.
