华裔美国作家林露德的《生还》延续了作者一贯的纪实性叙事风格,以二战为背景,讲述华人海员潘濂在海难之后独自漂流133天的求生经历。汪洋求生的本质是个体生命在海洋威力下的存续,以个人身体之完整性的保存为前提。潘濂在汪洋求生中的经历,正是展现了身体主体性的缺席与回归,身体体验与身体记忆的融合与延展是关键所在。求生叙事亦通过身体记忆这一载体,在阐释华人生命价值的同时,表达了一种文化主张,即中西文化不是非此即彼的关系,两者的互融更有益于生命的延续。

Sole Survivor by Chinese American writer Ruthanne Lum McCunn follows her documentary narrative style,unfolding the survival of Poon Lim,a Chinese sailor,who survived 133 days adrift on the sea after the shipwreck during World War II.Ocean survival involves human encounter with the power sea,with the preservation of bodily integrity as premise.Lim’s survival exactly presents the absence and restoration of his body subjectivity which pivots on the fusion and extension between his body experience and body memory.The survival narrative uses body memory as the carrier,affirming the importance of integrating and developing Eastern and Western cultures and expressing a cultural stance that Chinese and Western cultures do not constitute an either-or relationship,and integrating them is more conducive to the continuity of individual life.
