后殖民视阈下的另类东方书写——以《女勇士》为例

A Postcolonial Exploration of Different Oriental Writing——Taking The Woman Warrior as an Example

美国华裔作家汤亭亭所创作的自传性小说《女勇士》问世以来在饱受好评的同时也遭受一些争议,批评界对该小说中塑造的华裔女性形象也褒贬不一。该文通过后殖民理论视角,分析该文本中的剧情和人物形象,从而揭示作者在该小说中对东方乃至中国的一种另类解读和书写,即刻意去迎合美国主流社会认可。同时该文也呼吁华裔作家在书写本民族文化时应保持其原有的价值观体系,从而摆脱“东方主义”的陷阱。

The autobiographical novel“The Woman Warrior”written by the Chinese American writer Maxine Hong Kingston,has been well received since its publication,and also suffered some criticisms.“The Woman Warrior”has also been praised and criticized for the image of Chinese women which portrayed in the novel.The article analyzes the plot and characters in“The Woman Warrior”from the perspective of post-colonial theory,aims to reveal the author's different interpretation and writing of the oriental and even China in this novel.It means that the author's writing caters to recognition of American mainstream.At the same time,the article also calls on Chinese writers to maintain their original value system when writing their own culture,so as to get rid of the trap of“Orientalism”.
