A New Understanding of Wang Anshi and His New Policies in the Past Twenty Years:A Paper Written for the One Thousandth Anniversary of the Birth of Wang Anshi

新世纪以来,王安石及其变法的研究全面铺开。近二十年所取得的成果超过了20世纪的总和。王安石的文学、经学与变法得以重视,这是此前一直未曾出现过的。王安石的经学研究后来居上,是新世纪以来王安石及其变法研究取得进展最重要的标识。尤其是对王安石经学与变法的内在理路的研究有了新的推进,而对王安石"字说"的重新认识,则是王安石经学研究的重大进展。王安石变法研究趋于理性,与党争心态、阶级斗争理论渐行渐远,鲜活的王安石形象越来越清晰地显现出来。大多数学人已能用平常心态对待过去的毁誉、恩怨、褒贬,这是王安石及其变法研究的进步所在。王安石文学的研究对王安石在文学史上的实际地位的估计尚显不足。总体看,虽然王安石及其变法研究已取得令人瞩目的成绩,但是现今仍缺少综合文学、经学、变法及其时代整体、全面而有深度的研究。

In the past twenty years,Wang Anshi and his New Policies have been extensively studied,his literature and study of Confucian classics have been likewise appreciated,and this phenomenon has never appeared before.The scholarship on these subjects in the past twenty years has surpassed its total sum in the 20 th century.Moreover,research on Wang Anshi’s study of Confucian classics has surpassed the studies on other subjects and become the most important symbol of the progress that has been made on the study of Wang Anshi and his New Policies since the new century.There is also new progress on the research of the inner logic of Wang Anshi’s New Policies and study of Confucian classics,while the new understanding of Wang Anshi’s"Zishuo"is a significant development in the research of Wang Anshi’s study of Confucian classics.Besides,the study of Wang Anshi’s New Policies tends to be more rational.It is more and more removed from the mentality of partisan strife and the theory of class struggle.Due to these researches,the image of Wang Anshi is more and more vivid,most scholars can treat the past praises and blames,gratitude and resentments,compliments and denigrations with common mentality,and this is where the progress in the study of Wang Anshi and his New Policies lies.The study of Wang Anshi’s literature underestimates his actual status in the history of literature.Although the study of Wang Anshi and his New Policies has made remarkable achievements,comprehensive and profound study combining literature,study of Confucian classics,and the New Policies are still lacking.
