西学东渐中科学与儒学关系研究的回顾与省察

Review and Inspection of the Relationship between Science and Confucianism during the Eastward Spread of Western Learning

在西学东渐中的科学与儒学关系方面,我们所做的主要工作是:明确了明末清初西学东渐中科学与儒学关系的研究范围;大致弄清了该时期科学与儒学关系演变的历史轨迹;初步论证了科学与儒学具有根本上的相容性,二者应当协调发展;尝试提出了科技儒学的新概念等。深入开展西学东渐中科学与儒学的关系研究,亟待做到以下几点:合理布局研究框架;适当聚焦重点问题;坚持正确的方法论原则等。

Over the past ten years,we have made some achievements through our efforts:defining the research scope of the relationship between science and Confucianism in the Eastward Spread of Western Learning in late Ming and early Qing dynasties;roughly clarifying the historic trajectory of the evolution of the relationship;preliminarily demonstrating that science and Confucianism are fundamentally compatible and should coordinate for mutual development;putting forward the new Science-and-Technology-Confucianism concept.We are deeply aware that in order to carry out the in-depth study of the relationship between science and Confucianism in the Eastward Spread of Western Learning,there is an urgent need to do the following:a reasonable layout of the research framework;properly focus on some key research objectives;adhere to the correct methodological principles and so on.
