语言服务行业发展与学科建设研究——基于京津冀协同发展的语言服务调查

Language Service Industry Development and Discipline Construction——Based on an Investigation on Collaborative Development of Language Service in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

2020年8月教育部批复高校设置“国际语言服务”二级学科,不仅为外国语言文学学科发展开拓了新的方向,而且奠定了语言服务行业培养专业人才的专业基础。本文以京津冀语言服务企业和高校为研究对象,以文献研究和行业调查为研究方法,分析了语言服务行业发展现状,探究了语言服务行业协同发展和高校学科建设存在的问题。提出语言服务行业应加强顶层规划与供需协同;语言服务需求方应提高语言服务管理能力;语言服务提供方企业应提高专业服务实力;高校应加强学科规划,加强多方资源合作。

This paper takes the language service providers and universities in the region of Beijing-TianjinHebei as the research object,and analyzes the development of the language service industry by literature research and industry investigation.It summarizes the problems existing in the collaborative development of the language service industry and the discipline construction of universities,thus putting forward the strategies and suggestions so as to provide data support and academic basis for the development of national language service industry and discipline construction.177 language service providers and 41 universities and colleges that run MTI are investigated in the research.Results show that the demand for language services in the region of BeijingTianjin-Hebei is diversified with the largest demand for translation and interpretation.Language services are required in many vertical industries and the top two demand industries are equipment manufacturing and IT.The geographical distribution of language service providers is uneven,showing the characteristics of"one core and two wings".The language service providers.main business and service fields are diversified.Language service consulting has grown rapidly,and IT,education,and training,as well as equipment manufacturing,are among the top three service fields.The buyers and providers of language services have opposite understandings of the future of machine translation.The development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region-based universities is unbalanced in employment direction and language service courses.The main problems lie in the lack of coordinated development of the language service industry in the region of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the deficient top-level language service planning and design.Language service buyers,who have insufficient language service management ability,are not standardized in the procedure of choosing language service providers.The scale of language service providers is small with the lack of ability in attracting more high-level professionals.Professional translators from the demand side of language service are deficient,and the overall capacity of language service needs to be strengthened.Language service major planning for universities needs to be improved,and the cooperation of multilateral resources needs to be improved.In order to solve these problems,the paper proposes that the language service industry should strengthen the coordination between providers and buyers and strengthen top-level planning and design of the language service industry.Education departments,industry associations,and language service enterprises should attach importance to the division of labor and cooperation.The language service buyers should promote standardized provider management and improve the ability of language service management.Language service providers should improve their professional strengths and attract more high-level professionals.Chinese universities should strengthen discipline planning and talent training,strengthen cooperation between international and domestic universities and enterprises with multilateral resources to realize healthy industrial development,and promote discipline and specialty planning with construction strategies,thus improving the comprehensive ability to cultivate language service professionals to meet the needs of industrial development.
