摘要
翁贝托·埃科的小说《玫瑰的名字》采用后现代的叙事方法描绘中世纪修道院的生活,展现了社会个体在权力网络中的挣扎与生存。运用福柯的权力理论解读《玫瑰的名字》,揭示小说的荒诞主题。权力的网络使纯洁与罪恶相互交织,信仰与反信仰相互交融,放纵与节制合而为一,使乌贝尔蒂诺、豪尔赫以及其他僧侣的计划与结果相互冲突,造成了种种荒谬效果。
The Name of the Rose written by Umberto Eco describes the medieval monastic life through postmodern narration,presenting the struggle and survival of individuals in the network of power.Based on Foucault's theory of power,The Name of the Rose will be analyzed so as to reveal the theme of absurdity.In the author's opinion,power integrates chastity and sins,beliefs and disbeliefs,and indulgence and temperance.And power makes Ubertino,Jorge and other monks'plans conflict with their results,causing various absurd effects.
