Su Dongpo and tea

焚香、点茶、挂画、插花,号称宋人四大"闲事"。有人说这是宋代文人雅士风雅生活的四大乐事,也是代表宋代生活美学的四大技艺。如果说这四艺是书斋精舍生活的闲情雅致,那么样样精通玩得转的,在大宋时代大有人在,而其中最顶尖的高手,恐怕非苏东坡莫属了。殊不知,这位宋代文人的总代表,既是诗书文章的"三昧手",也是"宋韵生活"的代言人。

Burning incense sticks,making a cup of tea,showing paintings to friends,and arranging flowers were four leisure delights of the Song Dynasty.It is said that scholars of the dynasty enjoyed the delights very much.The four arts constituted a big part of the life aesthetics of the Song.The best representative of the scholars of the epoch who mastered the four arts was Su Dongpo,who brought the four leisure joys to unprecedented highs.
