Protective zinc oxide is a kind of zinc oxide with high efficiency, high utilization rate and low dosage, which can effectively replace the conventional zinc oxide with high dosage. Protective zinc oxide can improve animal growth performance, reduce diarrhea rate, and improve coat condition. The paper reviews the types, characteristics, biological functions and application effect, of protective zinc oxide on weaned piglets, to provide reference for further research and comprehensive development and utilization of zinc oxide.
