Chronic infectious diseases are a group of infectious diseases with insidious onset and unobvious symptoms.However,due to the long-term existence of pathogens,multiple organs will be affected,which will eventually lead to multiple organ failure,sequelae,tumors,and even death. This article will review the clinical characteristics,the harm,and progresses in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic infectious diseases in order to help clinicians identify and treat those diseases as early as possible.
