数据驱动的交叉型英文科技期刊青年编委遴选方法——以《数据与情报科学学报(英)》为例 被引量:6

A data-driven approach to the selection of international young editorial board members for English-language interdisciplinary scientific journals:A case study of Journal of Data and Information Science

摘要 【目的】提出一种面向主题交叉型科技期刊的青年编委遴选方法。【方法】运用CWTS论文层次主题分类体系精准定位目标期刊的发文主题,并以这些主题下的Web of Science论文作为数据源,统计分析文章作者的学术影响力、活跃程度、地理多样性、团队多样性、年龄因素5个维度共计17个指标的表现,遴选出候选人名单。【结果】以交叉型刊物《数据与情报科学学报(英)》(Journal of Data and Information Science,JDIS)为例开展实证分析。与JDIS主题相关的文章共有10.2万篇,对照指标体系的筛选标准逐步选出437位作者,结合定性分析和人工判断确定学术活跃、专业多样、地域广泛、性别比例平衡的21位候选人名单。【结论】所提方法能够有效为交叉型期刊提供全面、精准、多样、客观的青年编委候选人名单,并且此名单还可运用至约稿、精准推送等多个场景,是支持世界一流英文科技期刊建设的有力工具。 [Purposes]This paper intends to propose a data-driven approach to selecting young editorial board members for interdisciplinary scientific journals.[Methods]We applied a paper-level classification system to accurately locate the topics of target journal,and established the dataset of papers on these topics indexed in Web of Science.Then we constructed and calculated 17 indicators considering the author’s academic influence,activity,geographic diversity,team diversity,and academic age to quantitatively analyze the performance of the authors and yield the candidate list.[Findings]Taking Journal of Data and Information Science(JDIS)which is a typical interdisciplinary scientific journal as an example,we obtained about 102000 articles on topics of JDIS.According to the authors’performance and the criteria,437 authors were screened out for further analysis.Combined with qualitative review,a list of 21 gender-balanced candidates was determined.[Conclusions]The proposed data-driven approach can help yield an accurate,comprehensive,diverse,and objective list of young editorial board candidates for interdisciplinary journals,and this list can also be applied in multiple aspects such as contribution solicitation and accurate marketing service.Data-driven approaches will be powerful tools to support the development of world-class scientific journals.
