摘要
1943年张爱玲在英文月刊《二十世纪》上发表了9篇散文,并自译其中5篇为中文。张爱玲的英文写作与中文写作有其一贯性,但《二十世纪》中登载的影评为我们展现出其写作风格的批判性可能。自译涉及到语际之间的转换,而这一过程绝非是透明性的。通过自译,中英文版本的衍异也揭示出张爱玲创作和翻译中的主体性与"自我东方主义"的双重面向,并由此泄露出张爱玲身份认同上的暧昧性。
In 1943,Eileen Chang published 9 essays in The Twentieth Century,an English-language journal,and self-translated 5 of them into Chinese.There is a consistence in Chang’s writing in both English and Chinese but the film reviews published in that journal show a critical possibility of her writing style.Self-translation involves a transition from one language to another the process of which is not transparent.Through self-translation,the derivation of Chinese and English versions reveals the subjectivity of Chang’s writing and translation and the dual orientations of self-Orientalism,thus leaking the ambiguity of her identity.
