Objective:To develop the Chinese version of the Palliative Care Difficulties Scale(PCDS)and test its reliability and validity. Methods:Translation, back translation, and cultural adjustment were performed based on the Brislin standard to develop the Chinese version of PCDS.A total of 473 oncology nurses from two affiliated tertiary grade⁃A hospitals of a university in Wuhan city were enrolled by convenience sampling method and conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale.Result:A total of 15 entries were composed in the Chinese version of PCDS.The correlation coefficient between each item and the scale's total score was 0.637⁃0.838;the Cronbach'sαwas 0.935,the test⁃retest reliability was 0.969,and the half⁃reliability was 0.852;the content validity index(CVI)of the scale was 0.93,the items CVI was 0.83⁃1.00,and the average CVI was 0.99.A total of 4 common factors(lack of knowledge, community coordination, multi⁃disciplinary team communication, communication with patients and families)were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, the cumulative variance contribution rate was 84.370%,and there was a statistically significant difference(P<0.001)in each of them. Conclusions:The Chinese version of PCDS has good reliability and validity, which could be an effective tool to evaluate the difficulty in implementing palliative care for medical workers in China.
