Material Adaptation for Morality Cultivation in Foreign Language Teaching and Learning

立德树人作为教育的根本任务,意味着外语教育须全方位变革才能适应并服务外语课程思政的新要求。以《新目标大学英语·综合教程》(第一册第六单元)为案例展示了教材内容二次开发能有效服务课程思政新需求。其基本原则和方法是:1)提炼思政主题思想,明确育人目标;2)运用内容型教学法实现主题统领教学活动,并置语言能力与情怀格局的培养;3)围绕主题科学安排教学内容,实现课内课外有效互补。

The ultimate educational goal of moral education means necessary changes in philosophy,aim,method and content etc.in foreign language teaching and learning so as to meet the new requirements for morality cultivation.The paper is based on the case study of Unit 6 in Book I of The New Target College English:An Integrated Course,demonstrating how material adaptation can meet the requirements of morality cultivation in foreign language teaching and learning courses.The study also specifies the major methods and principles for adaptation:developing a pivot moral theme or idea around which all the learning activities cluster;integrating the theme,language skill and learning activities into an organic whole through theme-based content instruction;opting for learning content selectively to leave adequate room for both classroom instruction and autonomous learning.
