在雷·奥尔登堡提出第三空间概念后的30年间里,第三空间随着经济全球化和互联网技术的发展,也在不断进化。眼下,第一、第二、第三空间的物理界限逐渐模糊,真实和虚拟世界也开始重叠,多元化的人群对第三空间提出了更多元化的需求。社交网络对线下空间的呈现和引流作用,也使空间设计师不得不在品质和舒适度的基础上,兼顾颜值维度。但最终,人们还是需要走到真实的,面对面的社交环境中去交流。附近的、社区感的、温暖的第三空间永远是最受欢迎的。
30 years after Ray Oldenburg raised the concept of Third Place,the Third Place itself has been evolving through the economic globalization and development of internet technologies.The physical boundaries of the first,second and third place have been blurred,and the real world starts to overlap with the cyber one.Also,a more diverse demographic group now asks for more diversity in the third places.The influence of social media on the spaces'presence and advertising pushes space designers to rethink the importance of"appearance"beyond quality and comfortability.But after all,people need to go to the real social space to have a face-to-face conversation.Therefore,the third place near people’s home with a warm sense of community will always be welcome.
