关联翻译理论视角下许渊冲唐诗专有名词翻译研究

A Study on Xu Yuanchong’s Translations of Proper Nouns in Tang Poems from the Perspective of Relevance Translation Theory

中国古典诗歌别具一格的题材,专有名词翻译是译者在翻译诗歌时遇到的一道难题。关联理论对翻译行为有极高的解释力,以此来研究许渊冲先生英译《唐诗三百首》中专有名词翻译的合理性及其采用的翻译策略。理论上,从关联理论的视角探讨专有名词的译文如何从认知语境、交际意图的传递中达到阐释相似性和最佳关联性。实践上,在关联翻译理论指导下,通过研究专有名词的翻译,探讨其中采用的翻译策略。

Due to its profound cultural accumulation and unique theme,Chinese classical poetry brings some diffi culties to the translators in the translation of proper nouns.Due to the high explanatory power of relevance theory to translation behavior,this paper intends to study the rationality of the Xu Yuanchong’s translations of proper nouns in Three Hundred Tang Poems and translation strategies adopted from the perspective of relevance theory.Theoretically,from the perspective of relevance theory,the paper explores how the translation of proper nouns achieves interpretive similarity and optimal relevance from the transmission of cognitive context and communicative intention.In practice,under the guidance of relevance translation theory,this paper studies the translation of proper nouns and discusses the translation strategies.
