民族化是20世纪中期的一种重要艺术思潮,它覆盖了所有的文艺领域。中华人民共和国成立后17年(1949—1966),音乐民族化表现了音乐领域的思想发展和政治倾向,反映了作曲家积极响应党的号召,谱写时代新声之历史过程。从音乐发展的角度来回顾音乐民族化的歌曲创作及其成果极有意义。对当时的歌曲进行分类,对其艺术手法加以音乐学分析,对其创作成果加以史学研究,以展示新中国成立后17年的艺术"初心",增强民族自信。
