“I Say”:An Important Academic Expression

学术论著用于表达“我”(作者)的学术观点,属于“我说”。但在当前学术写作中,用“他说”取代“我说”已成为学术表达的惯例和定规,由此导致学术表达日益单一与僵化。其实,“我说”根植于我国学术传统,在现代学术发展中仍有一席之地。它是一种不可或缺的学术表达方式,也是学术写作的内在要求。在学术写作中可以采用多种形式来表达“我说”,如通过第一人称直接表达“我说”,通过隐含作者来表达“我说”,或隐身于文本中来表达“我说”。“我说”作为一种学术表达方式,可以在学术选题、研究对象、文本形式和语言风格等方面,推动学术写作的发展与创新。

Academic literature is used to express the academic views of“I”(the author)and belongs to“I say”.However,in current academic writing,replacing“I say”with“he says”has become the convention and rule of academic expression,resulting in academic expression increasingly single and rigid.In fact,“I say”is rooted in Chinese academic tradition and still plays a role in modern academic development.It is an indispensable way of academic expression in academic literature and an inherent requirement of academic writing.In academic writing,“I say”can be expressed in various forms,for example,directly through the first person,through the implied author,or hidden in the text.When“I say”becomes an important way of academic expression,it can promote the development and innovation of academic writing in terms of academic topics,research objects,text forms and language styles,etc.
