This article introduces the classification and definition of light commercial refrigeration equipment, and analyzes the general trend of refrigerant substitution in light commercial refrigeration equipment by comparing various aspects such as cycle performance, thermal parameters, environmental protection, safety, and system maintainability. Natural refrigerants such as R290,R600 a, R744 and synthetic environmentally friendly refrigerants can replace R134 a, R22, R404 A refrigerants that will be phased out under the Kigali Amendment and have a broad application prospect. Through the research of nearly 45 light commercial refrigeration equipment manufacturing enterprises in China, the refrigerants commonly used in different light commercial refrigeration equipment are summarized. Enterprises can combine their needs and choose suitable refrigerant alternative solutions.
