摘要
本文从对比语言学角度分析"续译"在翻译技巧理解与运用中的作用。139名中国英语外语学习者13周的多轮"续译"结果显示:1)学习者英汉互译翻译技巧理解与运用均提高显著;2)英译汉中的英语理解及汉译英中的英语运用均提高显著;3)英译汉翻译技巧理解与运用达到了对称发展,而汉译英翻译技巧理解与运用依然发展不对称。研究结果表明:学习者思维模式的有意识转换是"续译"高效促译、促学的根源;学习者主导性语言作为译出语或译入语影响翻译技巧的理解与运用,但非主导性语言水平的提升可促进翻译技巧理解与运用对称发展。
From a contrastive linguistics perspective,this paper probes the effects of the translation continuation task on comprehension and production of translation skills.The results of a 13-week iterative translation continuation task carried out by 139 EFL learners reveal that:(1)the EFL learners.comprehension and production of translation skills were increased significantly,as were their comprehension of English in English-Chinese translation and their use of English in ChineseEnglish translation;and(2)the comprehension and production of translation skills in English-Chinese translation developed symmetrically,while their development in Chinese-English translation was asymmetric.The findings indicate that:(1)the facilitative effect of the continued translation task can be attributed to the EFL learners.conscious shift in their way of thinking;and(2)enhancement of the EFL learners.non-dominant language may lead to symmetric development in their comprehension and production of translation skills,although the level of symmetry may vary depending on whether their dominant language is the source language or the target language in translation.
