摘要
Data are pervasively existent in our lives in the big data age,where information exchanges among individuals,enterprises,or government agencies use various forms of data as carriers.With the rapid development of information technology,data have gradually become a new critical resource and core competence.The research and applications of big data have aroused widespread interest in both academia and industry.In 2008 and 2011,Nature and Science published special issues entitled“Big Data:Science in the Petabyte Era”and“Dealing with Data”,respectively,and discussed the processing and applications of big data in the areas of internet technology,internet economics,supercomputing,environmental science,biology,and medicine.Moreover,governments in many countries have attached great importance to studies and exploration of big data and have launched various study plans to meet the challenges brought by big data.
