摘要
本文介绍了一款利用HINT指令来实现DSP加速的RISC-V数字信号处理器GRV3000D,包括GRV3000D的结构、单周期MAC和循环缓冲区与软件实现。和现有的RISC-V DSP方案相比,这种新的实现方式不需要客制化指令或者SIMD扩展,所以也不需要对编译器做改造。从而在软硬件两方面都具有更高的灵活性。和ARM Cortex M7相比,这款处理器具有很高的数字信号处理能力,完全可以用来替代ARM Cortex M7。以一个采用两个GRV3000D内核的数字对讲机SoC芯片的方案,说明GRV3000D处理器在窄带通信、语音处理、数字对讲、物联网等领域具有极高的应用价值。
A new RISC-V Digital Signal Processor GRV3000 D, including the architecture, single cycle MAC and circular buffer and software implementation that utilizes HINT instruction to achieve DSP acceleration is introduced in this paper. Comparing to the existing RISC-V processors, this one is a lot more flexible in both software and hardware.It does not require private instructions or SIMD extension. Accordingly, off-the-shelf compilers can used without any customization. Comparing to ARM Cortex M7, this one can deliver much better DSP performance. And it can be applied as an alternative solution to ARM Cortex M7 for a wide variety of market segments. A scheme of digital walkie-talkie SoC chip with two GRV3000 D cores is proposed, it shows that GRV3000 D processor has high application value in the fields of narrow band communication, voice processing, digital walkie-talkie, IoT etc.
