摘要
晚清重臣李端棻面对内忧外患的危机局势,提出了育才兴邦、改革学制、普及社会教育的教育救国思想,并积极投入到教育实践中。李端棻教育实践活动主要表现为主考广东重视经世致用、戊戌变法前夕上书请求改革学制、赦归故里捐助学堂等。李端棻的教育思想与实践对于中国近代教育体系的建立起到重要的推动作用。
Li Duanfen,an important minister of the Late Qing Dynasty,put forward proposals rejuvenating the nation through education,such as training talents,reforming school system and popularizing social education in response to domestic poverty and foreign aggression.This educational thought had been actively put into practice since it was proposed.Li Duanfen was also engaging in a series of educational practices,including advocating pragmatism as the chief examiner of Guangdong,submitting a petition for teaching reform prior to Reform Movement of 1898,donating for the construction of schools after returning his hometown.His educational thoughts and practice played an important role in promoting the establishment of China’s modern education system.
