摘要
本文通过2000—2013年中国工业企业数据库、海关数据库和《境外投资企业(机构)名录》匹配而得的微观企业层面的综合数据库,运用面板固定效应模型研究了企业对外直接投资(OFDI)对进口产品质量的影响。研究发现,企业OFDI会显著提高其当年进口产品质量。在运用PSM-DID方法和工具变量法处理内生性后,上述结果依然稳健。进一步对企业OFDI影响进口产品质量的作用机制进行分析与检验发现,企业OFDI对进口产品质量的提升通过学习效应和关联效应发挥作用。
There followed a 14-year research period( from 2000 to 2013),this paper analyzed the influence of OFDI on the imported products quality applying the panel fixed effect model with data abstracted from the China Industrial Enterprise Database,Chinese Customs Database,as well as the List of Overseas Invested Enterprises( Institutions).Based on the empirical results,this study finds that OFDI can significantly improve the quality of imported products. Besides,the above results remain robust after using PSM-DID method and instrumental variable method to deal with endogeneity. Further analysis and testing of the impact mechanism reinforces our finding that corporate OFDI plays a role in improving the quality of imported products, and it also reveals this kind of improvements might benefit from learning and correlation effects.
