Can We Turn to Aesthetics?——A New Solution to the Legitimacy of Chinese Aesthetics

中国哲学/美学原创力的不足引发了对其学科合法性的质疑,以西方哲学为参照系的质疑是一种能指大于所指的游戏,以西方哲学近代性的片段即所谓“证明体系”为“标准”并不足以判断或裁决中国哲学/美学学科的合法性。中国美学学科的合法性问题应转化为一种形式规范化问题,以其面对共同论域所创造的差异性思想及其言说,彰显出其独特性的存在价值。西方现当代哲学的“语言转向”,即由主客分离的“概念语言”转向主客融合并与其所言说事物同一的语言,颇类似于庄子之“大道”“大言”的“诗性语言”。东西方哲学/美学在交流互鉴中显示出彼此融合的态势,突破了“冲击—回应”或东西方二元论模式,走向了戛戛独造之学境。

The lack of original innovation in Chinese philosophy/aesthetics has raised doubts on the legitimacy of its discipline.However,these doubts with reference to Western philosophy are games in which the signifier is greater than the signified.It does not suffice to judge the legitimacy of Chinese philosophy/aesthetics with a standard of evidence system which belongs to a part of the modern Western philosophy.In the writer s opinion,the legitimacy of Chinese aesthetics should be transformed into the issue of formal standardization,and its unique existence can be demonstrated with different thoughts and statements created by it in facing of common universe of discourse.The“linguistic turn”of modern and contemporary Western philosophy attempts to change the“conceptual language”which separates subject and object into the language which integrates subject and object.It is quite similar to the“poetic language”of Zhuangzi s“Da Dao”and“Da Yan”.It might be expected that Eastern and Western philosophies/aesthetics show a tendency of fusion in cultural exchange and mutual learning,which might help to break the“Impact-Response”or Eastern-Western dualism model and step into a new academic realm filling with creativity.
