本文以电影《鲸骑士》为文本,探讨新西兰毛利族群面临的身份认同和社会正义问题。文化身份和社会公正问题本质上是如何对待本族文化和异族文化的问题。纠正欧洲中心论、消除欧洲把"东方"看作他者的意识形态、重建"东方"个体生命才是毛利族群能够重获文化身份认同的关键。《鲸骑士》以儿童视角拍摄,通过电影传递给儿童和青少年多元文化世界中的文化身份和社会正义问题,学习尊重女性和原住民等"他者",不仅了解本族的文化,还要了解异族文化,《鲸骑士》对种族、殖民和后殖民主义以及公民身份的思考与表达成为帮助人们了解多元文化世界的绝佳材料。

This paper uses the movie"Whale Rider"as the text to discuss the identity and social justice faced by the New Zealand Maori.The question of cultural identity and social justice is essentially how to deal with the relationship between one’s own culture and foreign culture—an issue that every citizen should consider.Correcting Eurocentrism,eliminating Europe’s ideology of Oriental as the other,and rebuilding the individual lives in the Oriental are the keys to the regaining of cultural identity for the Maori ethnic group.Filmed from the perspective of children,"Whale Rider"conveys to children and young people the significance of cultural identity and social justice in the multicultural world and the value of respecting women and indigenous people.Race,colonialism and post-colonialism,and citizenship have become excellent materials to help people understand the multicultural world.
