This paper introduces an abnormal discharge of a 500 kV transformer in the inner insulating paper cylinder corresponding to the upper and lower edges of the voltage equalizing ball in the high voltage outgoing line area due to the non-installation of the insulating partition of the elevated base of the high voltage outgoing line.Combined with the abnormal phenomenon and results of diagnosis experimentation,abnormality is handled and rectification measures are put forward.
