英汉语使动构式的语际对比研究

A contrastive study of caused motion constructions in English and Chinese

致使移动事件在人们生活中普遍存在,各种语言均有表述,但表述方式不同。本研究基于语料调查发现,英语使动构式概括性强,涵盖各类使动事件;汉语使动构式意义具体,详述不同使动事件。两种语言的使动构式体现出精确与灵活、聚集与离散、静态与动态的系统性反差。英汉使动构式体系的对比研究对探究英汉语言的整体结构特征及思维规律有启示作用。

Caused motion(CM) events expressions can be found in all languages but show systematic differences across languages.Based on a corpus investigation,it is found that English CM constructions have a high level of generality and Chinese CM constructions have diverse meanings representing different types of CM events.Caused motion constructions in Chinese and English manifest systematic differences,which are reflected in the contrast between exactness vs.flexibility,centralization vs.dispersion,as well as static vs.dynamic event description.This contrastive study provides insights for a deeper exploration of structural features of the two languages and the thinking modes of their language users.
