中美关系视域下对美国中国学的再审视——以吴国桢《美国为何不能更好理解亚洲事务》为中心

Re-examination of Chinese Studies in the U.S.from the Perspective of Sino-US Relations:A Case Study of K.C Wu’s Why is America Not Better Informed Asian Affairs?

以国民党前政要吴国桢的《美国为何不能更好理解亚洲事务》一书为中心,结合书中所披露的吴国桢与《亚洲研究杂志》之间的笔战及相关档案所披露的史实,对相关问题进行了学理性梳理。认为这场笔战既因吴国桢遭遇而起,也反映了美国学界对中国学者的种族歧视与言论压迫,更体现了美国中国学强烈的政治意识形态化。可见美国中国学意识形态倾向鲜明,我们应将美国中国学相关问题置于中美关系大势下予以理性观察。

This research focuses on the book “Why is America Not Better Informed Asian Affairs?” by K.C Wu,a former Kuomintang politician,and combines the written warfare between K.C Wu and the “Journal of Asian Studies” disclosed in the book and the historical facts disclosed in related files.Carried out a rational combing,it is believed that this pen war was caused by K.C Wu ’s encounters,and it also reflected the racial discrimination and speech oppression of Chinese scholars by American academic circles,and also reflects the strong political ideology of American Sinology.This shows that the American Chinese studies ideology tends to be sharp,and we should put it under the general trend of Sino-US relations for rational observation.
