Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of pulp necrosis and chronic periapical periodontitis of mandibular first molar treated by single-visit root canal therapy. Methods A total of 180 patients with pulp necrosis and chronic periapical periodontitis of the mandibular first molar were taken as the research subjects.According to the treatment scheme selected by the patients, they were divided into observation group and control group, with 90 cases in each group.Patients in the control group received multiple-visit root canal therapy, and patients in the observation group received single-visit root canal therapy. The clinical effects after 6 months of treatment, and the pain and inflammation subsided time of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group after 6 months of treatment was 94.44%,which was higher than 73.33%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The pain and inflammation subsided time in the observation group were(5.91±1.15)and(4.41±1.07)d,which were shorter than(8.28±1.07)and(7.88±1.69)d of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Singlevisit root canal therapy provides good clinical efficacy on the treatment of pulp necrosis and chronic periapical periodontitis of mandibular first molar, and it can shorten the pain and inflammation subsided time of patients.
