On the Inheritance of Chinese Traditional Religious Culture

要把传统宗教文化置于中华优秀传统文化的整体中进行传承。把坚持马克思主义宗教观与坚持和发展中国特色社会主义宗教理论结合起来;把共产党员要做坚定的马克思主义无神论者与各级干部加强对宗教基本知识的学习结合起来;把阐释宗教教义、宗教文化对社会的深刻影响与社会主义社会相适应、同中华文化相融合结合起来;把坚守中华文化立场、支持我国宗教坚持中国化方向同坚决抵御境外利用宗教进行渗透结合起来。

The inheritance of China’s religious culture should be done in combination with China’s traditional culture. We should adhere to the Marxist view of religion and develop the religious theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Communists should hold firm opinions of atheism and attempt to learn basic religious knowledge at the same time. The interpretation of religious doctrines and their impact on society should be connected with the cultural development of the era. We should stick to the position of Chinese culture and further sinicize the development of religious culture;meanwhile, we should guard against the penetration of religions outside China.
