谈张锦池先生的治学思想与方法

张锦池先生是中国古代小说研究界的著名学者,在其长达半个世纪的学术生涯中,笔耕不辍,取得了丰硕的成果。张先生的治学思想与方法深受其业师北京大学中文系吴组缃先生的影响,但又有自己的心得,归纳起来,主要表现在三个方面:“学贵有疑”的治学思想,即不迷信学术权威,敢于大胆怀疑,勇于发现问题;“考论结合”的治学方法,即不空发议论,不尚空谈,主张论必有据,论必有考,考中有论,论求深刻;“小处着手,大处着眼”的治学路径,即从小的问题去着手,最终实现宏观的目标。张先生治学严肃认真、一丝不苟,“焚膏油以继晷,恒兀兀以穷年”,耗尽生命的最后一点力气,成就了其学术丰厚的一生,尤其是完成了具有代表性的学术专著“中国四大名著考论”——《红楼梦考论》《西游记考论》《三国演义考论》《水浒传考论》,这四部学术专著也是张先生对恩师吴组缃先生当年的承诺。

Mr.Zhang Jinchi is a well-known scholar in the field of ancient Chinese novel research.In his half-century academic career,he has been working hard and has achieved fruitful results.Mr.Zhang s academic thoughts and methods are deeply influenced by his teacher,Mr.Wu Zuxiang,in Department of Chinese,Peking University,but he has his own experience.In summary,this is mainly manifested in three aspects:the scholarly thought of“doubt in academic research.”,that is,not believing in academic authority,dare to doubt boldly,and dare to discover problems.The method of“combination of examination and argument”is not empty talk or empty talk.The argument must have evidence,the argument must have examination,the examination must have an argument,and the argument must be in-depth.The approach of“observe from the big target,and start from the small place”approach is to start with small problems and finally achieve the macro goals.Mr.Zhang is serious and meticulous in his academic studies,“burning oil to research tirelessly for years”,exhausting the last bit of energy in his life and accomplishing his academically rich life.In particular,he completed the representative academic monographs“A Research on China s Four Famous Classics”——“A Research on A Dream of Red Mansions”,“A Research on Journey to the West”,“A Research on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms”and“A Research on the Water Margin”.These four academic monographs are also Mr.Zhang s promises to his teacher,Mr.Wu Zuxiang.
