摘要
本文以赛义德的“东方主义”理论为基础,选取谭恩美的三部作品《喜福会》《拯救溺水鱼》和《奇异山谷》作为研究对象,指出其面向“东方主义”的复杂嬗变过程,即附和———颠覆———超越。为了获得西方主流文学界的认同,作品《喜福会》体现出谭恩美对“东方主义”的附和;随着文学地位的逐步确立和写作视野的进一步拓展,谭恩美之后创作的《拯救溺水鱼》体现出对“东方主义”话语有力的悖反和颠覆;而《奇异山谷》中追求的东西方多元文化融合则实现了对“东方主义”的超越。
Based on Said's Orientalism theory,this paper selects Amy Tan's three works The Joy Luck Club,Saving Fish from Drowning and The Valley of Amazement as research objects.It points out Amy Tan's complicated evolutionary process with Orientalism———echo,subversion and transcendence.In order to gain recognition of the western mainstream literary circles,Amy Tan's works,The Joy Luck Club,becomes an echo of Orientalism.With the establishment of her literary status and the further expansion of her writing vision,Saving Fish from Drowning is a powerful subversion of Orientalism,while the multicultural integration of the east and the west in The Valley of Amazement achieves the transcendence of Orientalism.
