Cognitive Evolution and Sovereignty Defense of the Coastal Areas in South China Sea before and after the“Xisha Incident”

近代以后,中国对南海诸岛的主权认知及捍卫意识逐渐觉醒。“西沙事件”发生后,社会各界援助海南民众,举全国之力反抗日本掠夺西沙群岛资源的暴行以捍卫西沙群岛的主权不受侵犯,不仅传播了南海诸岛的相关知识,也唤起中国人对南海海疆的认知和维护南海主权的意识。

After modern times,China’s awareness of sovereignty and defense of the islands in the South China Sea gradually awakened.After“Xisha incident”,all sectors of the society assisted the people of Hainan and resisted the Japanese invasion of Xisha islands resources with the efforts of whole nation to defend the sovereignty of Xisha islands.It not only spread the relevant knowledge of the South China Sea islands,but also aroused the Chinese people’s awareness of the coastal areas of South China Sea and the consciousness of maintaining the sovereignty of the South China Sea.
