地质学专业英语对就业、考研、从事科学研究工作以及后期的学习意义重大。地质学专业英语教学过程中,存在专业词汇记忆困难、学生学习兴趣不浓等问题。提出了精析地质学专业英语构词法、精选授课内容、坚持小班化教育以及提高专业英语实用性等改进举措,以期提高专业英语教学质量,提升地质学专业学生应用专业英语的能力。

English for Geology majors is of great significance to employment, postgraduate entrance examination,scientific research and later study. In the course of geology English teaching, there are some problems such as difficulty in memorizing professional vocabulary and students’ lack of interest in learning. In order to improve the quality of professional English teaching and the ability of geological students to apply professional English, some measures are put forward, such as elaborating the word formation of geological English, selecting the teaching content, insisting on small class education and improving the practicability of professional English.
