Three Issues on the Silk Painting of Mawangdui Tomb No.1

本文对马王堆一号汉墓帛画重新探讨,认为上部蛇首人身神除了可能为女娲之外,还可能是阴阳合一之神;帛画下部赤蛇主要象征地下世界的勃勃生机;整幅帛画的基本性质是墓主升天,回归祖先,并含有较强烈的生殖崇拜之意。

A further discussion is made in the thesis about the silk painting of Mawangdui Tomb No.1,holding that there is possibility that the snake-head-human-body deity in the upper picture be either Nuwa or the unity of Yin and Yang,whereas the red snake in the lower is the symbol of the underground world full of life;the whole picture thematically presents the tomb master ascending to heaven for reunion with his forefathers.The painting strongly expresses reproduction worship.
