The Boundary without Boundaries--Discussion on the Boundary Between Modernism and Critical Regionalism

本研究通过梳理现代主义与批判的地域主义的缘起及发展,提炼出两者在建筑空间设计层面的内涵与异同。本研究通过对应用现代主义与批判的地域主义的具体建筑空间设计案例进行剖析,阐释两种主义对现代建筑空间设计的本质影响;通过对两种主义的反思与批判,认为现代主义和批判的地域主义之间不存在边界,而是会产生一种积极的耦合效应,并对现代建筑空间设计有思辨式的推进作用。指出当今多元化的视角和学科之间的相互冲击是促使建筑不断进化的关键,应重视不同流派之间的交融、递进、渗透。

This research sorts out the origin and development of modernism and critical regionalism,and extracts the similarities and differences between the two in terms of architectural space design connotation.The paper analyzes the specific architectural space design cases of modernism and critical regionalism,and explores in detail the essential influence of the two on modern architectural space design.Through the reflection and criticism of the two kinds of theories,this paper considers that there is no boundary between critical regionalism and modernism,but a positive coupling effect,and it has a speculative role in promoting modern architectural space design.Finally,it is pointed out that today’s diversified perspectives and the mutual impact between disciplines are the key to the continuous evolution of architecture,and the interaction,integration,and progression between different genres should be emphasized.
